Conservation areas
If you live in a Conservation Area, there are extra planning provisions for the protection of trees. If you want to carry out any significant works on trees in Conservation Areas, we suggest you contact the tree office at your local council.

Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs)
Tree Preservation Orders are placed on trees that have a high amenity value or are particularly special. Before works on TPO designated trees can take place, you will need to seek approval from your local authority. This normally takes eight weeks. For further advise you should contact the tree officer at your local council.
